What kind of MBA would I need to get to travel? ?
I’m currently a biology major and am planning to switch to a business major because I want to get my MBA. I knew someone who got their MBA and worked with Cartoon Network, CNN, etc. And she would travel around the world doing business for them. What kind of MBA would I need to get to do something like that?
I agree, and you need several years of work experience before getting a decent MBA. Entertainment is difficult to break into, as well. Many jobs offer travel, but I’ll bet it’s not as glamorous as it seems. I was a researcher and facilitator in NYC and also traveled, but it wasn’t as much about my MBA as my international experience.
PS Most good MBA programs don’t necessarily want business majors–they want a diversity of experience.

First I would advice you not to switch to a business major if you want to get an MBA. You are far better off having a science degree in combination with the MBA. The MBA will give you the business background. Second, your question "What Kind of MBA . . ." implies that you don’t understand the concept. The MBA is a broad general degree that trains students for high level management positions. You take courses in accounting, finance, marketing, management, statistics, strategy, policy, and others. The MBA is not the same as an MS that concentrates on a narrow area such as finance, chemistry, or biology and trains students for high level staff positions in their field. Third, there is no relationship between an MBA and the amount of travel. That depends entirely on the job you get after you graduate. Finally, let me point out that most MBA programs prefer students with 2-4 years work experience, although many take students right out of college. Your goal should be to get the best grades possible, work at least part-time while in school to get some experience, get the highest possible GMAT score, and look for the MBA programs that best fit your preferences and criteria in the Official MBA Guide, a free resource with a lot of information and data on MBA programs.

has nothing to do with an MBA. I had a BS degree and travelled the world. You can get an MBA and never leave your office building!!!!
